Positive Option Family Service

Placement of children with emotional or other special needs into specially trained families for out of home care. Counseling, assessment, and advocacy services provided. Foster families receive a stipend for reimbursement of care expenses, support and training, weekly in home supervision or care, and 24 hour crisis intervention services. Respite care provided based on training and time in service after one year. Full services to both foster families and natural families of children in placement. Facilitated visitation, parent education (individual and/or group), interactive parenting, stress management, counseling for effects of abuse and trauma, reunification counseling, and family maintenance counseling available to all caretakers. Children may receive counseling, social skills building, bonding and relationship training, emancipation training, and psychological assessment as indicated by individualized treatment plan.
